Fitness Assessment – The fitness assessment takes the athlete through a series of exercises that determine the athlete’s strength from unilateral and bilateral standpoints. This assessment includes 11 tests.
Functional Movement Screen – From the Functional Movement System website, “Put simply, the FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
The FMS generates the Functional Movement Screen Score, which is used to target problems and track progress. This scoring system is directly linked to the most beneficial corrective exercises to restore mechanically sound movement patterns.
Exercise professionals monitor the FMS score to track progress and to identify those exercises that will be most effective to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual.”
Coach Milo will take the athlete through seven movements that will show him how the athlete’s body moves in a pain-free environment. If he finds discrepancies in movement patterns he will give the athlete exercises that will help correct the movement pattern.
Fundamental Movement Skills Assessment – Through this assessment, which includes six tests, Coach Milo will learn how well the athlete's upper body and lower body coordinate through dynamic movements.
Power Assessment – This assessment show Coach Milo how well your body translates strength to power. He will use the body’s own weight and appropriately weighted medicine balls to accomplish the eight tests.
Learning Style Profile – Each of us tends to learn movements in a slightly different way than the next person. Movement patterns originate in the brain. Some of us are able to watch movements being made, and mimic them. A few of us can be told how to move with no visual instruction and will be able to do what we are told. Others have to be put in position and physically, manually, taken through movements. Then there are many of us who need a combination of methods.
Nutritional and Lifestyle Assessment – What’s in your refrigerator right now? How much water do you drink? On scale of 1-10 how stressful is your job? How much time per week do you devote to working on you?
Understanding a fit and healthy lifestyle goes beyond, lifting weights, eating better and sprinting. Coach Milo will take a look at all the things that make up you, and give suggestions where we believe things might be improved.
Team Concepts - Coach Milo has an extensive 'team' of world-renown professionals who are able to assist with specific aspects of an individuals goals. Coach Milo will also speak with the athlete's 'team' to be certain that all aspects of the program are being addressed.
